FAQs

  • Iglu Living is a cool alternative to traditional apartment living where everyone lives in their own little ‘bubble’. It’s all about living as part of a community, with lots of your living space outside of your own private apartment. With working space available for those home-office days, through to communal areas all set for play, you get to live life the way you choose. If you are looking for a cool new way to live, we think you will be keen to learn more.

  • It’s perfect for recent graduates or young professionals who are not quite ready to go through the pain of setting up a rental from scratch. It’s great for corporate interns who need a short-term base but want something that feels more like home than a serviced apartment. It also suits those embracing a more home-based work arrangement, but still want to feel connected to a wider community on a daily basis. The beauty of co-living is there are no rules – you decide how you live.

  • Iglu Summer Hill is set to open in early 2022. You can register your interest now, and we will contact you to organise an inspection.

  • Iglu Summer Hill apartments will all be furnished private studios containing a fully-equipped kitchenette and small dining space, ensuite bathroom, double bed, study desk, chair and smart storage. You can learn more about the studio apartments here.

  • Iglu studios are compact and cleverly designed with custom-built furnishings and fittings together with smart storage solutions to make the most of the space. The beauty of living at Iglu Summer Hill will be the access you have to the shared resident areas which extend your living space well beyond your own apartment.

  • Everything! There will be a range of shared social spaces available including lounges, a coffee bar, an expansive courtyard with BBQs as well as a games area with table tennis and pool table. Residents will also have use of meeting rooms and communal desks for those working from home or out of home. There is also a gym, bike storage and an onsite laundry.

  • Safety and security are always a top priority. In addition to the onsite team available during business hours, there will be CCTV, secure entry to all areas of the building and after-hours support.

  • Yes. There will always be someone onsite available to help. This will include day-to-day support (there will always be someone to receive your parcels when you’re not home), assistance with resident events, security, building maintenance and communal area cleaning.

  • Of course. If you would like to register your interest now, we will contact you when onsite inspections are available. We will also keep you posted when new virtual resources are released so you can start to see what life is really going to be like at Iglu Summer Hill.

  • The opening rents at Iglu Summer Hill will be:

    • Standard Studio – $399
    • Premium Studio – $439
  • A bond equivalent to 4 weeks rent is required at the time of signing your contract. This amount is then sent to the relevant state’s Rental Tenancy Bond Authority where it is held until after you vacate the property. It is then returned to you at the end of your contract, less any amounts you may owe to Iglu such as unpaid rent or damages.

  • The standard lease terms will be 6 or 12-months with the option to renew at the end. Variations to this will be available for people looking for a shorter or longer stay, however the minimum stay will be 3 months.

  • The price of your rent is fixed for the 6 or 12-month period that you have contractually agreed to. If you decide to extend your current lease, the weekly fee may be subject to increase but we will always let you know in advance.

  • In addition to your furnished apartment, resident facilities and onsite team support, your rent will also include:

    • All of your utilities (water and electricity)
    • Unlimited high-speed internet
    • Regular resident events
  • We will conduct a comprehensive review of all tenancy applications including financial information, past tenancy references and TICA (Australia’ largest tenancy database).

  • Of course. If you would like to register your interest now, we will contact you when onsite inspections are available. We will also keep you posted when new virtual resources are released so you can start to see what life is really going to be like at Iglu Summer Hill.

  • There sure is. The laundry is available 24/7 and operates on a smart system. Simply tap your phone or scan a code to use the washing machines and dryers.

  • There will be meeting rooms and a range of communal desks for those working from home. When you need to take a break you can grab a caffeine fix from the coffee bar, head out to the courtyard or hit the resident gym.

  • No, but we will be offering add-on options for apartment cleaning. All building communal spaces and gardens will be cleaned and maintained by Iglu.

  • Of course, this is your place. Like any apartment building, we just ask that you and your friends respect your neighbours.

  • Of course not. You are free to come and go as you please.

  • We always need to respect our neighbours. Regular residential restrictions and common sense will apply to communal spaces and private rooms with any type of noise including music.

  • While we love our furry friends, we do have a no pet policy. Assistance dogs are an exception.

  • There is no onsite parking and unfortunately residents are not able to apply for council parking permits. We are working with GoGet to ensure residents have convenient access to car share pods in close proximity to the building. Summer Hill train station is on the doorstep and provides excellent access to the city and surrounds.

  • We will always prioritise the wellbeing of residents and ensure that:

    • Our COVID safe plan is up-to-date and always implemented
    • Communal spaces and touchpoints are frequently cleaned
    • Sanitising stations are available
    • Social distancing prompts are visible when required
    • All public health measures are adhered to by our team, residents and all visitors.
